Terms and conditions


Registration

Applications for registration must be in writing and submitted either by mail or online. By signing the registration form or by submitting the registration form online, the attendee accepts the Terms and Conditions. The applications for registration are processed in the order received and are confirmed in writing. The invitation to and the invoice for the training activities are delivered to the attendee 3 weeks before the course start at the latest.


Prices

The prices cover the training lessons of the courses and preparatory courses of Lernwerkstatt Olten (hereinafter “LWO”), as well as the cost of the training materials, including required books, if any. Food, lodging and travel expenses are the attendees' responsibility. The course and module prices as specified in the brochure valid at the time of the registration apply. The current calendar year's brochure is valid until 15 October, after which date the following year's brochure will be valid.


Payment

Course fees are payable in good time before the start of a course.


Cancellations, changes to a registration and withdrawal

All cancellations, changes to a registration and withdrawals must be in writing.

Cancellations are, in all cases, subject to a CHF 350.00 administrative fee. On cancellations received between 4 and 10 weeks before the start of a course or seminar, 30% course fee will be due; on cancellations received less than 4 weeks before the start of a course or seminar, the entire amount will be due.

Changes to a Registration are, in all cases, subject to a CHF 80.00 administrative fee. On changes received between 4 and 10 weeks before the start of a course or seminar, 30% course fee will be due; on changes received less than 4 weeks before the start of a course or seminar, the entire amount will be due. If the course or the seminar can, despite the change to a registration, be held with the full number of attendees, these fees will be waived, provided that the person changing the registration actually attends the agreed course.

Attendees withdrawing from a course in progress are not entitled to any refund of course fees or any part thereof.

Any travel and lodging cancellation costs will be fully charged to the attendee.


Expulsion

Attendees severely disrupting or rendering impossible the learning process of their fellow attendees may be expelled from the course, in which case they will not be entitled to any refund of course fees or any part thereof.


Admission to exams

Being admitted to the courses and preparatory courses of LWO does not mean that one is admitted to any federal exam as well. It is each attendee's own responsibility to find out whether he or she is eligible for any such exam. If not, he or she will not be entitled to any refund of course fees or any part thereof.


Admission to Intercorporate Vocational Trainer, Part-Time and Full-Time Intercorporate Training Manager courses

Admission to the Intercorporate Vocational Trainer and Part-Time and Full-Time Intercorporate Training Manager (Berufsbildner/in üK, üK-Leiter/in im Neben- und Hauptberuf) courses and supplementary modules is granted to applicants providing, before the start of the courses, proof of higher vocational education, or the equivalent thereof, in the subject they teach, as well as of two years of work experience in their area of expertise. In addition, applicants must provide proof of work experience in intercorporate courses or training workshops.


Guarantee that course(s) will be held

LWO guarantees that all courses will be held in all respective cities and on the dates planned. The Trainer/Coach seminars and the Livecoaching Certificate are excepted from this guarantee. If a course is cancelled, the attendee is compensated to the tune of CHF 1000.00 for the expense incurred. He or she is entitled to a compensation on presentation of a bilaterally signed training contract. If the circumstances leading to the cancellation or postponement of the course are beyond LWO's control, attendees are not entitled to a compensation. In particular, there is no such entitlement where such cancellations, postponements and course outline changes are due to regulation changes by professional organisations or by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation SERI, unforeseen course leader absences, misprints, changes in flight plans, and changes brought about by epidemics, pandemics, disasters, political unrest and military conflicts.


Swapping course dates

Provided that they provide a reasonable explanation for missing a given course date, attendees may compensate for any missed course dates, within the confines of the rules as set out by the examination boards, by attending a separate course running parallel with the missed course.


Replacement dates and course setting

LWO reserves the right to cancel courses on any given date and to offer attendees replacement dates or to replace classroom courses with virtual courses or hybrid course settings following regulation changes by professional organisations or by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation SERI, unforeseen course leader absences, misprints, changes in flight plans, and changes brought about by epidemics, pandemics, disasters, political unrest and military conflicts. LWO is authorized to require course participants to wear face masks in the classroom during an epidemic or pandemic.


Dogs welcome

Attendees of the SVEB Certificate daytime course in Nottwil and Pfäffikon/SZ are invited to bring along their dogs. Please be advised that within and directly in front of the building, dogs are to be kept on a leash. Folding boxes or other appropriate types of objects to accommodate his or her dog are the dog owner's own responsibility. Not allowed are: socially incompatibly dogs, dogs with infectious diseases, bitches in heat, non-vaccinated dogs and dogs without valid liability insurance. Dogs showing any aggressive or disruptive behaviour or dogs that are not housebroken may be expelled. Owners will be held liable for any damage caused by their dogs.
 

Seminar passes

Seminar passes are valid for three years from the date of issue for all employees of the company/organisation as stated on the seminar pass for the following courses: Trainer/Coach Seminars, Trainer Academy, Vocational Training Event, Coaching-Mentoring Event. 1 seminar pass code entitles 1 person to attend a seminar or workshop on 1 day. Multiple-day seminars require mutiple codes.

All cancellations and changes to a registration must be in writing and are free of charge up to 4 weeks prior to the seminar/workshop start, following which point the seminar pass code will expire, unless the attendee presents a valid medical certificate. It is, however, possible to designate a replacement attendee.


Data protection

LWO may forward all attendee particulars without the attendees’ prior consent to a course’s leader and attendees. LWO may also forward such particulars exclusively for statical purposes and, during epidemics and pandemics, for contact tracing purposes to the relevant authorities and cooperation partners.

All visual material created in connection with the courses and preparatory courses may be used by LWO for advertising purposes; in particular, such material may be used in printed matter, on the website and on social media platforms without the prior consent of the attendees. Attendees may, however, demand that visual material be removed from the website and from social media platforms.


Insurance

Within the context of all courses, seminars, training events, excursions, etc. organised by LWO, cancellation insurance and accident insurance are the attendee's own responsibility.


Place of jurisdiction

The place of jurisdiction for any disputes is Olten.
